Security Officer Trainee 2901
Summary
An Armed Response Officers primary duties are to protect the health and safety of the public by providing a physical presence to respond to threats, protect against acts of radiological sabotage, and to prevent the theft of special nuclear material.

EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
No experience required.
2 years Security Officer, US Military with an Honorable Discharge, or Law Enforcement (Preferred)
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
Firearms qualification with handgun and rifle per STP site training and qualification plan.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to emergencies and drill exercises with assertiveness and awareness for effective crisis control.
Conduct armed stationary, foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior).
Control access and/or egress of personnel, materials, and vehicles.
Monitor CCTV, plant surveillance equipment and alarm systems.
Perform testing of security systems.
Deter criminal activity, misconduct, and safety violations.
Support activities that include the identification of equipment and safety related hazards and report those instances when necessary.
Perform other duties as specified in nuclear training and qualification plan, post orders and procedures.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Accept outage position.
Accept ERO position and be able to meet the response requirements.
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access if needed.
Ability to pass all physical and NRC requirements for a Nuclear Security Officer
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Environmental and physical requirements require the ability to don appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the defined role; subject to crouching, stooping, bending, twisting and/or lifting up 40+ lbs; ascending/descending stairs; ascending, descending, traversing ladders, scaffolds, stairs; working in confined spaces; moving safely over uneven or slippery terrain; working in proximity to loud equipment and possible inclement weather/temperature conditions.
Required Medical Physical per STP site training and qualification plan.
Physical Fitness Test per STP site training and qualification plan.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Overtime and alternate work schedules as needed.
Subject to callouts twenty-four hours per day seven days per week.
Travel may be required.
May be required to carry a phone.
Shiftwork including holiday coverage.
WORK LOCATION
Due to the nature of the work, this position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site.
