Job Description
OVERVIEW: The Social Services Assistant will help with the operations of the social services department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Greeting & assisting clients visiting the Corps
- Direct volunteers
- Compile the monthly/quarterly statistics and submit them as approved
- Maintain all upkeep of equipment used for programs/coordinate repairs
- Organize catering and refreshment needs for meetings
- Provide clerical assistance to the Corps Officers and other staff
- Assist with Corps projects
- Pick up donations
- Coordinate the food pantry distribution
- Coordinate the Diaper program distribution
- Collect all data for statistics, food distribution, donations, and hot meals
- Submit data to Second Harvest of partnership donor participants
- Asist the unhouse clients with their mail
- Warm up food to be served in the afternoon
- Other related duties as required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: - High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- CA Driver's license (required)
- Experience in data entry (preferred)
- ServSafe food handling certificate (within first fourteen days of employment - company provided)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: - Bilingual in Spanish (preferred)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Programs
- Ability to work with diverse populations
- Team player
EQUIPMENT USED: - Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
